I have been suffering from sinus/allergy issues for the past few years that included frequent headaches, runny noise, clogged nostril on one side at all times and full ears. I scheduled a meeting with Dr. Slaughter and they did a CT Scan which uncovered my problems were related to a deviated septum and perforated eardrum in my right ear. I have always been sensitive to water in my ears my entire life. Dr. Slaughter thought it would be best to tackle the deviated septum first (which may be the cause of the ear problems) and then patch the ear. I had the surgery to repair my septum which included a balloon sinuplasty, septoplasty and turbinate reduction. I was in and out of surgery in a matter of a few hours. The recovery is pretty intense but the rewards of being able to breathe out of both nostrils consistently have been well worth the fews days in bed. After I was fully recovered with my nose surgery, I went in for the ear patch in which he went through my ear canal vs. outside of the ear to patch the hole in my eardrum. Once again the recovery took some time for all the packing to dissolve but I can hear more clearly out of my right ear and will feel more comfortable swimming again. Bottom line: Go see Dr. Slaughter if you suffer from anything related to your ears, nose, and throat. Great personality to go with great skills in the operating room.
